Bread Pot – Oval
a Variant of the L-Bread Pot

€185.60
VAT included

When we turn this bread pot on the wheel, it initially corresponds exactly to the L size. In further steps, the base is cut out, the pot is pressed into an oval shape, a new base is fitted and, after the final firing, the lid is fitted.

Since its volume corresponds to that of the L-shaped bread bin, the same applies here. The only difference is that round loaves do not fit inside completely, but oval ones do. It takes up space in a different direction. This can be more convenient in some places, such as on a narrow shelf. Whether round or oval is preferred is often simply a matter of taste.

Glaze colour

We glaze the outside in five different colours, all with a natural, vibrant texture and in such a way that the ceramic remains visible in the lower section.

The inner glazes not only meet the (by our standards) low standard of ‘food safety’, but are also completely non-toxic.

The colour structure is unique to each vessel; no two are exactly alike. To get an overview, you can also look at the same glaze on the other shapes.

Materials:

Vessel: 1300°C stoneware with feldspar glaze (highly resistant and impact-proof)

Lid: breathable, three-layer spruce wood, food-safe oiled, 13 mm (important for moisture permeability), impact-resistant (very pleasant for everyday use)

How we make our bread pots

The following series of images provides an insight into how a bread pot is made.
Like all our ceramics, it is carefully handcrafted on the potter's wheel.
